The Minister's Corner
Our reading is from the book of Ephesians chapter 4 verses 11 through 16. And talk about the work of the church. And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. That’s what God would have all of us to do. Growing up knowing the truth and working. Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father we’re grateful for Your love. We’re grateful for the work that You have done in our lives. And help us to be workers with You and workers for You. Help us to reach the lost and to bring those who are erring back to the truth. In Jesus name, Amen. The church is composed of people committed to the Lord Jesus by their obedience to the gospel. Christians were first known as disciples who listened and learned from the Lord, repented of their sins, and were baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. Now according to the book of Acts, the disciples were men and women old enough to believe and repent. They chose to deny themselves, to take up their cross daily, and to follow the Lord. Now there’s a difference between Christians in name only and authentic, practicing Christians. Jesus revealed those whom God calls disciples. First, the Lord Jesus defined authentic Christians from people who call themselves Christians. John 8:31 to 32 He says about to those who were Jews who believed in Him, ‘If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.’” Now we can’t call ourselves true disciples, if we don’t know what Jesus taught. Authentic disciples are students of the word and students of the Lord who seek the Lord and are willing to obey Him. Jesus said that, “Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice” (John 18 verse 37). Sadly many who call themselves Christians today, listen to human traditions, pop psychology, and doctrines never found in Scripture.

We Believe

We are motivated by a deep love for God and a genuine concern for all people. Love is the badge of all true disciples (John 13:33–34), and the prerequisite for all service (1 Corinthians 13:1–8). The work of Jesus’ church is threefold: teach others about Jesus (Mark 16:15–16), encourage each other to be faithful to Jesus (Romans 14:19), and help others in the name of Jesus (James 1:27). We believe the Bible teaches that sinners are saved by faith, repentance, confession, and baptism (John 3:16; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9–10), and that Christians must remain faithful after conversion (Revelation 2:10). As to doctrine, the church of Christ seeks to return to simple New Testament Christianity and unite all Christians into one body (1 Corinthians 1:10; Ephesians 4:4–6). We believe that the New Testament is the only rule for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 1 Peter 4:11), and that it must authorize all that is taught and practiced (Colossians 3:17; Revelation 22:18–19). To carefully follow the New Testament in all things, we observe the Lord’s Supper every Sunday and sing songs acappella.
